- Greetings all...
-
- I've been trying to get a new HD installed (Conner 121 meg SCSI HD) into my
- A2500 (Has a GVP HD+8 as the controller), but I have been running into a lot of
- problems getting all of the bad blocks mapped out using HDToolbox (Comes with WB
- 2.1). Seems that the program has a very rudimentary verify facility (VERY
- labor intensive), and that even after I have spent close to an hour getting all
- of the blocks mapped, the program tells me that there is not enough room to save
- the bad block data (I seem to have developed close to 21 bad blocks located by
- the program). I have followed the programs suggestions and have put the number
- of partitions down to only one, and have limited the actual size of the
- partition to 110 megs, leaving close to five megs on either side of the mapped
- partition (using the partition drive function of the program), yet I cannot seem
- to get the bad block data to save to the drive!
-
- Anyone out there have any ideas short of trashing the drive? Are there any
- other programs that I could use instead of the HDToolbox that might have an
- automatic verify function? Any other ideas to help out? Thanks in advance!
